Joe Borovich, who created the original Canucks (stick in rink) logo in 1970 and also adopted and still in use by the NVMHA passed away recently.
When Joe’s family reached out to the NVMHA to ask for player volunteers to serve at his Jan 24 funeral, Charlie, Captain of the NVMH U18A1 team, put the message out and heard back from with an overwhelming response from every Senior teammate on the team. On Jan 24, 6 players dressed in their formal attire and NVMHA blue jerseys donning Joe’s logo and served as the official Pallbearers
As quoted by the family, their presence brought a “sense of honour” to the service and they were very appreciative for the boys devoting their time to honour their loved one and his legacy.
