PCAHA is excited to announce the hiring of Alex Guiney as our Director of Hockey Operations.
The hiring of our first-ever Director of Hockey Operations marks a significant milestone for our organization and reflects our commitment to strengthening the support we provide to our member associations. This is one of several changes aimed at enhancing resources, improving communication, and building a stronger foundation for the continued growth and success of hockey across our communities.
Alex joins PCAHA having spent the past four seasons as the Hockey Operations Manager with Langley MHA. During Alex’s time with Langley MHA, the Association won the BC Hockey Frank Spring Award as Minor Hockey Association of the Year (2024), and he has been actively involved with PCAHA, volunteering on the PCAHA All-Star Committee, as well as the PCEHL U13 and Under-9 Full-Ice Pilot Programs. For his contributions to minor hockey, he was awarded the PCAHA President’s Service Award in both 2024 and 2026.
“I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity to work with PCAHA and to support our member Associations in providing the best possible experiences and opportunities to the coaches and players within their Associations. PCAHA is a fantastic organization with a tremendous history and a bright future. We look forward to working with Associations to enhance the player experience by supporting coach and player development programs, actively showcasing the many talented players within our leagues, and educating members on their opportunities to pursue excellence and achieve their potential.”
Prior to his time in Langley, Alex graduated from Brock University with a degree in Sport Management and worked in Junior ‘A’ Hockey, helping numerous players progress to Major Junior, USport, the NCAA, and professional hockey.
Welcome to the team Alex!
